RICHARD MILLE : Wrist Racing Machine

A world-famous French luxury brand, a model of excellence and perfection, Richard Mille has established himself in the world of Haute Horlogerie through the radicality of his watches.

After several decades of experience with several watch brands (notably with Mauboussin) Richard Mille, then 50 years old, founded his own brand in 2001 with the launch of the RM 001.

Its objective: to design completely innovative products that break with the dominant classicism and adhere to a unique principle "nothing is too good for the result".

Laid without remorse on the ground during its presentation behind the scenes at Baselworld, to prove to its future dealers and partners that this calibre of tourbillon was unique, the RM 001 was a legendary and immediate success.

Associated with Dominique Guenat and the best experts of Swiss watchmaking,  The Richard Mille timepieces are designed specifically for those who have a genuine appreciation of fine watchmaking and who want to possess a watch of excellence at the cutting edge of innovation.

To create an extreme timepiece without compromises and gadgets, Richard Mille draws inspiration from techniques and materials used in the development of Formula 1 racing cars, aeronautics and the aerospace industry (such as alusic, phynox or carbon nanofibres).

Associated with the world of sport, Richard Mille sponsors Felipe Massa, a Formula 1 driver, with whom he has co-designed the RM 006 and RM 009 models. Marvels of technology, meticulously produced in limited quantities, Richard Mille watches are characterized by the absence of superfluous where function dictates form. Each model is inspired by the latest technological advances where the quest for perfection is to balance all possible features and options.

For Richard Mille, user comfort is also essential. The shape of the model, whether thin or solid, must guarantee optimal comfort without interfering with the physical movements of the owner. The ergonomic shape of the case and the mechanism, exposed, become the key elements of the brand’s aesthetics.

Since then, 18 years later, the strategy remains and Richard Mille has established himself in the world of Haute Horlogerie thanks to timepieces recognizable among all, at the forefront of innovation such as the RM 27-01 Rafael Nadal Tourbillon , the lightest tourbillon wristwatch in the world with only 18.84 grams, including bracelet.

The best of a watchmaking technique pushed to the extremes, an architectural dimension imbued with pure mechanics, hand finish and iconic design.
